The Nissan Versa had traditionally been perceived as a“granny” type car due to its reliability, safety and fuel efficiency. Nissan wanted to change all that. Pixelusher was brought on to infuse the brand’s online presence with sexy playfulness, making it desirable for the “hipper” element of society.
The solution? bounce yo! Building on an existing TV campaign, a truly in- novative interactive site was produced that used webcam to capture the actual physical movement of the person sitting at their computer. As the user bounces up and down in their seat, their webcam captures the movement and translates
it onscreen in the form of a Versa bouncing up into the air. With each bounce, the car goes higher and higher, reveal- ing various vignettes related to the car’s cool features. Does your granny bounce? Didn’t think so. The site succeeded in infusing the brand with just the right amount of quirk and fun Nissan was looking for.
