Creative Technologist / Experience Design
When it comes to your interactions with innovative technology, Andrew has always believed you are more than a “user”. Over his lengthy career, he’s proven time and again that technology has the power to connect people through storytelling and shared emotional experiences. An award-winning designer, creative technologist and creative director, Andrew founded Pixelpusher with the goal of creating human centric experiences that surprise and delight.
Creative Technologist
One of Pixelpusher’s founding fathers, James Porter’s two decades of experience put him near the top of a short list of the city’s go-to Interactive Developers. An alumnus of Sheridan College’s renowned illustration program, over the years James’ work has helped win a slew of awards for brands like OLG, MINI, Nissan and more.
Creative Technologist
While Matt’s title is Creative Technologist, what he really functions as at Pixelpusher, is a technological jack-of-all-trades. Always seeking new things to learn and ways to innovate, Matt’s handiwork can be found in everything from large-scale web builds to never-been-done-before digital installations. He’s also got a solid knack for planning and managing multi-faceted website architectures. He can also wail on the guitar.
Creative Director
Steven is a creator. Simply put, he believes any problem can be solved with creativity and determination. Here at Pixelpusher, he’s responsible for project planning, architecture and management, and leads a team of interdisciplinary collaborators to bring immersive installations, interactive narratives, and rich user experiences to life. Over the years he’s produced campaigns for companies that mine gold, and companies that mine data.
Technical Director
A veteran of interactive media and game programming, Mike is our resident expert in server-side application development. Is there anything he can’t do? From game engine design to cross-platform development and procedural effects for clients ranging from Ford Canada to OLG, if you need something to look good and run like lightening, he’s your guy.
Project Manager
Lucy brings years of ad agency experience and a fresh perspective to the way we work. People and process are her passions and she treats every project as an opportunity to learn and improve. Known for her positivity and enthusiasm, she truly believes that there’s no problem that can’t be solved with good communication, collaboration, and chocolate.
Project Manager
In addition to being a proponent of the standing desk, Karen joined Pixelpusher after a successful career in broadcast production. During her time at Pixelpusher, she’s made a name for herself managing everything from complete website builds to interactive installations and live events for clients like Ford, Manulife and Kraft. If Karen is on your project, you know your project is in good hands.
Designer & Web Developer
Designers love programmers who understand design. Programmers love designers who understand code. We love the soft-spoken Andrew Tan because he excels at both design and development. For many, making something look good vs. making it work may be separate, but for Andrew, it’s yin and yang – one can’t exist without the other. Michelle Kam
Front-end Developer
Unstoppable problem-solver… past lecturer in Digital Electronics design… flautist… Renaissance woman Michelle Kam is Pixelpusher’s go-to developer on projects that need an exceptional eye for detail. An expert in SASS, jQuery and Grunt, Michelle’s flair for excellence can be seen in Pixel projects for Manulife, Wild Kratts, Fallsview Casino and more. Watch this space for further examples of her exceptional work.
Tech Lead
Stephen is much too modest to provide a bio. Suffice it to say Stephen is seasoned developer with decades of experience under his belt. He is the technical wiz you want in your corner whenever you are creating a mission critical web application.
Good Will Ambassador
Hailing from California, Taco brings with him 4 years of experience making everybody’s day a little bit brighter.
Partner & Sr. Interactive Developer
We couldn’t have a team page without an entry for Gray – Pixelpusher’s Wunderkind, Founding Partner and friend. Graham passed away in 2011 but was an integral part of the culture of Pixelpusher. From his sense of humour, creative energy, and amazing animation abilities to his staggering natural ability to master any game he tried, Gray set the tone for the way Pixelpusher runs. All these years later his memory is still with us every day. He is also memorialized through the “Graham Barton Muay Thai Youth Scholarship”, a charity setup to help Toronto’s Youth at Risk.
